To gear up for Remembrance Day in 2019, Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) brought on FEAST to upgrade existing creatives, encourage a stronger personal connection between Canadians and Remembrance Day, and drive more visitors to VAC’s social media sites and the veterans.gc.ca/canadaremembers landing page. We successfully met all objectives, and wound up boosting web traffic by 19%.
Some of our proudest accomplishments on the campaign included developing a Remembrance Day Snapchat lens that over 44,000 users shared to create moments of remembrance and a Snapchat filter with the hashtag #CanadaRemembers, which over 160,000 users shared.
Further, we launched a “Faces of Heroes” video on social media that turned historic photos into colourized, moving 3-D parallax images. We also revamped VAC’s “Our Freedom” commercial by adding new clips to fully represent the diversity of Canadian veterans.
